-2- In order that the clock may be made on an economical basis, they are seeking permission to manufacture 1000, to be delivered to us as and when we require them. We have not yet ordered :- 2nd. half of Wraith "B" Series - 100 clocks. Wraith "C" Series - 200 " Phantom III "E" Series - 200 " Bentley - Series following "M" - 200 " Total ................... 700 The proposal to make 1000 seems a reasonable number to aim at. The clock is being supplied at 15/-d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} This is the same price that we now pay for the Empire Clock, but upon which Smiths make a loss of 12/6d. per clock. There is also a suggestion with regard to the Empire Clock which was mentioned to me at an earlier date but which is not yet in its final form, and that is that owing to 90% of the trouble on the Empire Clock being caused by the fuse, Smiths are developing a fuse which can be reset by hand, and in order to facilitate their service problem, if they manu-facture and give to us the fuse, would we be agreeable to fitting them to cars as and when the cars become available ? The fitting of the unit should not be expensive when the car is at the Depot, and if it will prevent complaints, it seems that this would be worth while. BY RD. | ||
