Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 1004 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/AD5.7.32. PHANTOM II DYNAMOMETER TEST Part of the dynamometer test on P.II chassis is a run of 10 minutes full torque on 1st gear. On the 25 H.P. however, the throttle opening is adjusted on 1st gear so that the torque at the road wheels is the same as that delivered on 2nd gear. After a recent experience of our own while running a Phantom II car fitted with low rating springs at full torque on 1st gear which damaged the rear universal, we think it might be better to run the production dynamometer test under 25 H.P. conditions with possibly a quarter of a minute at full torque to make sure that the gear does not come out under load. We should be glad to have your views on this. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Grylls. | ||
