Investigation report on a faulty dynamo from chassis 26HC.

To EFC Order No. P.D.1 Customer's No. X 8783 Customer's Faulty Dynamo R.U.65. & Chassis 26HC From an investigation of this machine the following points were revealed:- 1. The insulation of the machine was found to be faulty due to a mixture of copper dust and brush dust, bridging the insulation of the control brush-holder. 2. All brushes appeared to have been removed at some time, and improperly replaced. The inner positive, and outer negative brushes had become interchanged, and were the reverse way round in the holders. 3. The outer control brush appeared to be a main brush filed down. This was also the wrong way round in its holder. 4. All brushes shewed signs of an attempt having been made to rebed them. 5. The armature appeared to have been over-heated all through, as solder had been Signed Cont'd This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
