X3806 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}12/KW. 30th July, 1934. Messrs. Luvax Limited, Warple Way, Acton, LONDON, W.3. For attention of A.W. Pitt. Esq. Dear Sirs, Valves & Junction Bodies. We are experiencing trouble with the above, where the valves lift to make an oil tight joint in the Junctions. We have had occasions where the system has been blocked up through brass shavings finding their way into the valves, and on inspection it is found that when the valves are screwed into the junction they try to make a satisfactory joint by bedding on the last thread. Actually what is happening is that when finally tightening up, the last thread is stripped off, and so eventually gets into the valve. Perhaps you could arrange to visit us on either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday of this week, in which case will you kindly let us know your intention, we can then talk the matter over. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
