Description: FIVE BLADE FAN WITH 1.0/1 RATIO DRIVE WITH LATEST TYPE LARGE FEROGRIP FAN BELT. Purpose: To Improve Cooling and overcome traffic over-heating troubles. Brief Report and Remarks: Effect on cooling tested and reported on - see Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.6/AP. 24.6.37. also drive durability reported on in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.8/MH.{M. Huckerby}22.12.37. Drive recommended for standardisation has minor improvements since writing last memo. above and will have completed necessary test bed endurance by the time it is ordered for production. Twelve sets of these fans, but fitted with the very much inferior British Goodrich belt in place of "Ferogrip" belt are in service in customers hands and so far no complaints have been reported (nearly one year service).
