COMPLETED 21.9.38. PHANTOM III STANDARDISATION OF PARTS Date Issued: 1.8.38. Sheet No.: P.32. Drg. No.: L.O.P.S. Description: BONNET REST STRIP (ON DASH) IN FERODO S.6891 BONREST MATERIAL. Purpose: To minimise wear and chafing of bonnet, knocks etc. and bring Ph.III in line with Wraith chassis. Brief Report and Remarks: This bonnet rest material ran satisfactorily on 26.G.VI. during 15,000 miles test in France and is standardised on Wraith production. When recommended for Introduction: As soon as possible without scrap. Report References: Increase in Cost £ Negligible. GRL 25/8/38 Production Position and Comments: Bonnet rest strip in Ferodo S.6391 Bonrest Material can be introduced without scrap at the 190th chassis in 'E' series. As an alternative introduction can be effected at the 1st. chassis in 'E' series by scrapping existing stock value £8.8s. No tool cost is involved and the difference in Factory cost is negligible.
