With reference to "N" Scheme 622 we are aware that the castellated shown are for a fired gear in the 40/50 gear box, and suggest that the internal diameter of the broached gear centre be reduced to give a sliding fit on the bottom of the shaft castellated. If this is inconvenient owing to insufficient broach clearance, we have no objection to the gear sliding on the sides of the castellated.
