FROM PN{Mr Northey}

E.A.C. Open Touring Car.

I found this car very pleasant to handle from all important points of view. The acceleration certainly spoils one for a standard car, and the brakes were very stable and effective. Of course, I did not have any very slippery roads.

The peculiar little thud on first depressing the brake pedal remained with the car all the time. I would be glad if you would make a point of letting me know what this may be found due to. It does not strike me as being due to the brake shoes wrapping on.

Soon after starting from Derby, the pin lost itself which holds the controls to the exhaust cut-out, so that I had the annoyance of this valve "chattering" all the time.

The steering seemed very nice and not too sensitive.

(I think the steering wheel whilst being of the latest type, is of less diameter than what I have now on 107-MG).

The acceleration on hills on an easy long gradient was very remarkable. At no time did I notice any material engine vibration.

A proper slow running was not possible, that is, under the conditions of no load, "ticking over" of the engine could not be effected.
