Description: RESTRICTION OF OIL SUPPLY TO VALVE GEAR.
Purpose: Overoiling due to excess of oil on the cylinder heads. (Swdl.{Len H. Swindell})
Brief Report and Remarks: Inlet and outlet banjo screws on filler having one .075 dia. hole in place of 2 - .156 dia. holes.
This makes excessive high main pressure and is corrected by using a low pressure spring on the main valve (E.87831) Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} and LA.{L. A. Archer} report appreciable improvement in overoiling troubles. Tappet filler lasts longer periods before becoming choked by virtue of having less oil to deal with as carried out by us on 33.EX and 36.EX chassis.
When recommended for Introduction: Immediately.

Production Position and Comments: Hydraulic tappets become obsolete at 1st. chassis in 'D' series therefore the above modifications do not apply to future production chassis. The cost of converting customers' cars as a retrospective measure would be approximately 2/6. per chassis.
