Bailey - Chief Engineer} NEW TYPE LUGGAGE GRID. P.II. (N. SCH. 3032). There are several points on the new P.II. type luggage grid which are open to criticism and it would appear advisable to investigate them while there is still time to carry out modifications. Our criticisms are as follows. (1) Luggage strap guides on the bodyguard rail; these are in a very awkward position, it is very difficult to slip a luggage strap through them. It is suggested that a better position for the strap guide is at 90° to the present position (or even at 45°.) this would take the nasty sharp curve out of the strap and we do not think would foul the body panel on the longest body. (This fault has not come up on this type of luggage grid, it also was a fault of previous types). This contingency can be provided for by altering the position of the strap guides. We are carrying out this slight modification. (3) We think the appearance of the four grid fixing screw handles is not at all good and could be improved upon. When they are all tightened up, the | ||
