X8430 We send herewith N. scheme 1968. a print of which we have sent to Mr. Royce, shewing thegeometry of series 'V' compared with the old EAC. 3., and it will be seen that in every respect the new steering is either the same or superior to the old EAC. 3. The diagram shews the way the steering leverage varies from full lock to full lock, and what seems a noticeable point arises from it namely, that if geometry or weight lifting had anything to do with the steering stiffness the one lock should be twice as hard as the other, this difference being still more pronounced on the EAC. 3. than on series 'V'. We believe that nothing like this is noticed in practice though slight differences between the one lock and another have been observed. As regards weight lifting we shew that even if it were as much as 300 lbs., the superior geometry of the series 'V' would cancel this out as compared with EAC. 3.
