ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED, NIGHTINGALE ROAD, DERBY. TELEGRAMS: "ROYCAR", DERBY. TELEPHONES: 476 (Four Lines). DEPARTMENTAL MEMO. This column is for Name of Person addressed. DATE. -3- I rather think that the carbon is due to something else. Expect with present carbon deposit compressions are very high. The special system of lubrication as on exp. card appears to do no harm, in fact I think it does good as regards good piston lubrication, nice quiet running, and powerful engine. Carburation. (Medium carburettor, large pipes, & special throttle.) General running very good, occasionally had misfires when picking up after running full throttle slow speeds, especially when engine cold. Throttle not very handy to dismantle. Piston also easily gets crossed and jammed when dismantling. Quantities of petrol found in throttle when dismantled, (see previous note re carbon deposit). Throttle does not give any trouble from sticking or seizing up, although it does not This sheet must be filed with the correspondence to which it refers. (Contd) | ||
