(9) Gearbox. The casting of 32-EX is unfortunately scrap. We suggest therefore that the casting at present on 35-EX is used, that the Cadillac gears in 32-EX should be transferred to this casting, and in addition, the top and third gear cones should be of 9°, screw threaded to N.Sch.4661. The splines at the front end of the third motion shaft should be left soft, and also the splines in the top and third driving piece. The second speed cone should be of 8° and screw threaded, and the operating mechanism to N.Sch.4824. The oiling schemes at present in 32-EX's box should be incorporated in the new box.

Before effecting the changeover we should like to have the engine stripped to examine the condition of the bearings etc. We should also like to examine the bottom needle bearings of the front suspension, one of which has been protected with a leather cover.

(10) Lockheed Hydraulic Jacks.

(11) Rubber shackles at front end of rear springs, as prepared for 32-EX.

It is possible that on the conclusion of experiments in hand we may wish to fit the isolated change speed lever to this car.
