ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To Order No. Customer's No. 2. coating on the inside surface of the coil-case under test. The other side of the transformer supply was connected to a tin-foil coating on the outside of the coil-case. The case was placed inside a silica oven, electrically heated and provided with a thermometer. Thus on applying the a.c. voltage from the transformer, any leakage in the material under test, was allowed to pass in one direction only by the valve and show on the d.c. instrument.
