R.R. 300. (6 s (P.P. 382. 8.1 13) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 4114. ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. INSTRUCTIONS. To: Mr Royce Order No. Customer's No. Re: Daimler Brakes Sheet II In view of the foregoing it would seem that the present scheme for steadying the shoe at A (in Red) will be too stiff, as there are certain forces which would exaggerate the movement of drums, say as in direction of ares of axle, if this is so a spring or rubber washer would be necessary to relieve the bracket of any great stress. Since thinking of above I went down to Mr Roscoe & made enquiries if any of steadies on existing rear brakes ever came in bent & he says every now & again they do, these steadies are light plate bolted to a stiff lug on bracket & they give way before breaking. I have sketched this scheme on G2175 shewing how they would bend. Signed. This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
