1300 12th April 1937 Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /FJH. {Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} 8/AP. Messrs Ransome & Marles Bearing Co.Ltd., NEWARK-ON-TRENT. For the attention of J.A.Ross Esq., Dear Sirs, On 18th December last year we ordered from you 8 experimental steering rollers to your drawings B.10023 and B.10024. We subsequently increased the number to 12, and on both occasions you accepted the order. We have not yet received any of these rollers despite repeated requests by letter and telephone for early delivery. The position is the same in connection with 3 experimental rollers to your B.9828 which you are making but which are long overdue. The extraordinary delay in sending these parts to us leads us to think that you are not treating the order seriously, and we wish to point out that our experimental work on steering gears is being completely held up. Our letters dealing with these rollers are under the following references:- Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /FJH. {Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} 18.12.36., Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /FJH. {Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} 18.1.37., Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /FJH. {Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} 17.2.37., Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /FJH. {Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} 19.2.37. Will you please look into this matter and arrange to deliver these rollers as soon as possible. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
