-2- but the carburation was so hopelessly strong we had to give up. As a matter of fact with the B8 needles fitted putting the control over to the strong side immediately drops the speed. This is sufficient evidence I think to refute the statements made, that more speed can be obtained by running the mixture control strong. The lap speed obtained with a 20/25HP car fitted with the new type carburetter was 69.75 m.p.h. The average lap speed obtained with a 20/25HP chassis fitted with the old type carburetter is 68 to 69 m.p.h. these speeds I have taken from JLE{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} records. LA{L. A.
