| [PAGE 13] TITE FLEX ADAPTERS When a Nut and Nipple is required, or when an existing Union has to be fitted to Tite Flex Pipe, the complete assembly is made up of three parts 1—The Tite Flex Hose 2—The Adapter 3—The Nut and Nipple, or other Union fitting The Adapter is the connecting link between the Flexible Hose and the Nut and Nipple. Standard Nipples cannot be fitted direct to Tite Flex Hose because the outside diameter of Tite Flex is greater than the bore of the Nipple. But by using the correct Adapter ANY existing fitting can be attached to Tite Flex Hose. This illustration shows a Tite Flex Pipe with Standard B.S.P. Nut and Nipple Fitting. All joints—Tite Flex to Adapter, and Adapter to Nipple—are soldered joints. This illustration shows Adapter and Nipple in section. The inside of the Nipple, and the part of the Adapter over which it is to fit are tinned and assembled in the ordinary way. Then the Hose is soldered into the Adapter in the manner outlined on page 1 of this catalogue. Order Adapters by the Catalogue Nos. The demand for this product has justified the consistent belief of the Gabriel Manufacturing Co., Ltd., of the need for a high class flexible metal hose connection. For more than twelve years Tite flex all-metal tubing has been successfully used to solve the problem of a flexible metal connection in the commercial field where it has proven its efficiency and dependability under actual service conditions. It is used as plant equipment by manufacturers in varied lines because of its adaptability and wide range of application in industry. Tite flex is furnished as standard or original equipment by organizations manufacturing and marketing machines or devices requiring a flexible metallic connection of Quality. Tite flex all-metal tubing differs in construction from all other types of flexible metal hose and tubing. It is fabricated under a patented process and because of its distinctive features it exhibits marked characteristics most desirable in a flexible connection. Tite flex is the only pressure tight flexible tube made from metal strip that does not rely on a packed sliding joint to produce flexibility. Tite flex is all-metal. Because of this all-metal construction the tube is inherently tight for the carrying of liquids and gases.
