To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/GT.27.2.41. EXPERIMENTAL MYTH ENGINE. Herewith a copy of the report on the general chassis position, which I circulated a short time ago. There are several small drawings missing from the end of this report, and these will be forwarded to you as soon as they are available. We are sending you today complete drawings of the 10 HP. Myth engine and two further drawings are following, showing the block casting of the 8 HP. and of the 12 HP. (Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH.4/SW.27.2.41 herewith). I suggest that the best way to make this engine experimentally is to produce two complete sets of parts, plus spares, with the exception of the cylinder blocks. I would like to have one block for a 10 HP. engine and one for a 12 HP., and with each block will go the requisite size of pistons which are made by Aerolites. This will enable us to get experience with two different sizes of power plant in the car and, at the same time, ensure that there is an engine for the test bed and one for the road. If we go through with a spare block, then I recommend the 10 HP. size. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
