Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} V2677 12.10.33. DELIVERIES TAKEN FROM S.U. PUMPS. INCORPORATING NEW CASTING LEC.3635 & VALVE SEATINGS LEC.3655. The result of the tests taken on two pumps proved to be exactly the same, and were as follows:- DELIVERY. Secs/Pt. Pts/Hr. Fuel Used. 21.8 165 Petrol 21 171 Petrol On this test a 12 c.c. air bottle was used on delivery side. 26.8 134 Paraffin 26 139 Paraffin On this test a 12 c.c. air bottle was used on delivery side. Up to date the results shown are the best we have obtained from an S.U. pump. Some while ago we tried an air bottle on one of the pumps, but found it made no difference. No doubt the rise shewn in the above figures is due to the larger clearance volume in the casting. These two pumps are also free from air leaks due to the .032" valve seatings which are now fitted in place of the .062". Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/J.C.Bowering. | ||
