S/W. {Sales / Derby Works} To Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Copy to HJ. GWB. HP. Br. {T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} X4425 PN {Mr Northey} 7/EH.1.12.26. C.M.S. 20 H.P. Saloon - GYK-10. We find in connection with our Demonstration cars that the front shock absorbers on both models tend to fall in use from the standard setting to about 20 lbs. loading. In the case, however, of the car referred to above, there developed a considerable harshness in the front due to road shock, and this was finally traced by me to the front shock absorbers, which were found to be loaded respectively to 35 and 40 lbs. On setting these to normal my complaint has been practically washed out. It, therefore, appears not safe to take the view that the front shock absorbers can be left to their own devices after once being set, and any suspicion of harshness with the front springing should cause these to be inspected.
