We are issuing a standardisation sheet for the new servo lining sample of which you have already. It is called Ferodo RAD.13, and the Ferodo Co's order number to which they are supplying it to us is 24384.E, so that there should be no confusion in getting the right stuff.

We recommend that the oil holes in the servo drum should be deleted when this material goes on production, as they only tend to let paraffin and grease on to the lining when the servo is being washed down by the chauffeur.

Some of the linings Ferodo have supplied have been slightly oversize in thickness, and this should therefore be watched.

The fact that these linings are harder than the cotton duck necessitates more correct manufacture of the servo in order to get an even bedding.

We are issuing a full report on this in the immediate future.
