Huckerby} 16th September, 1937. Messrs. Rolls Royce Limited, DERBY. Dear Sirs, We acknowledge with thanks receipt of your esteemed enquiry of the 14th inst. together with Blueprint EB.3410 illustrating a drop-in type Thermostat. We are unable, however, to quote for a Thermostat identical with the one illustrated on your blueprint, but we can offer you equivalent designs which will be in every way satisfactory. We note from your drawing, however, that there does not appear to be any provision for closing the bypass, although in your letter you refer to thermostatic bypass system. We strongly recommend the use of a design which closes the bypass as the main valve opens, and offer you the following suggested arrangements:- Arrangement A.{Mr Adams} Smith drop-in type Thermostat, our print X.30065 which may either be housed in a casting similar to Drawing EX.X.9195 or bolted direct to the radiator (Body detail EX.X.9189). Arrangement B. Thermostat X.30065 housed in the cylinder head with internal bypass arrangement. Arrangement C. Thermostat X.30065, but housed in a casting bolted to the cylinder head with external bypass. contd To avoid delay all envelopes should be addressed to the firm. | ||
