The coil was run continuously for 8 hours under these conditions.
Test 2. was conducted immediately subsequent to test 1 and consisted of leaving the coil "on contact" ie distributor short circuited, with a 1 1/2 ballast and a voltage of 15 across the coil and ballast in series. The coil was left in the oven at a temp of 100°C initially the oven being switched off and allowed to cool gradually. This test was done during the night the coil and ballast being left on for 13 hours.
