Dear Mr. Leslie,

Many thanks for your letter of the 22nd instant, for which I thank you.

If you examine closely the sample springs we have already sent in, you will find that the interleaving between the first and second leaf has a rather strengthened type of cotton tongue for some 3 or 4 inches, to take up the extra heavy work which is considered necessary.
