During my recent visit to Mr Royce he asked me to make a special note that he was anxious to have the C.56 Lodge plug standardised as soon as possible. It is therefore important that we should obtain some more experience on the C.56 Lodge plugs we have in stock, in order to ascertain whether they shew the same weaknesses which the first batch developed in the hands of EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} Since R. {Sir Henry Royce} is particularly interested in the C.56, it will be necessary for us to issue a standardisation sheet as soon as we have satisfied ourselves that the proposal is a good one. Mr Royce's views are that he is very much against the mica plugs and considers that the Steatite plug is a distinct improvement which we should adopt as early as possible. In his remarks he specially referred to the Lodge C.56, as the type that he approved of. BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
