Dear Wace,

I had a talk to Mr. Hives yesterday about the possibility of Rolls Royce employing your Firm.

Mr. Hives' view is that consultant engineers only suggest, and the administration then have to work on their suggestions.

At the moment, he has more information from his consultants than he can digest; so much so that for the time being, there is absolutely no chance of him dealing with any other Company in a consultant capacity.

He was very definite about the whole matter and I am sure it would be a waste, both of your time and his, to have an interview.

I am sorry that I cannot do anything further to help you but the situation is rather what I expected.

Yours sincerely,
