'M' SERIES BENTLEY - ANTI FREEZE

With regard to the question of using Anti-Freeze in the above type of chassis.

Normally in despatching chassis we drain the water system as the majority of chassis are despatched by rail, but in view of the fact that with the 'M' Series type of chassis it is necessary to use Anti Freeze during the winter months, we suggest that we despatch these chassis from the Works filled with Anti Freeze, and with a label attached to the radiator stating that it is filled with Anti Freeze mixture and should not be drained, but if for any reason the system must be drained, it must again be filled with Anti Freeze mixture.

To try to differentiate when chassis should be filled with Anti Freeze for winter conditions is very difficult as chassis often lie about at Coachbuilders and other places for long periods. Also to leave the filling of the radiator with Anti Freeze to the time when the final test of the car is made would create a number of awkward situations, as when the chassis are ready for final test, they are lying about at various Coachbuilders in various parts of the country, and it is likely that times would occasionally arise when it would not be possible to obtain an Anti Freeze mixture.

If BY agrees to this procedure, we will arrange for a supply of Prices "ZERO" and the necessary labels for attaching to the radiators.
