Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.19/KW. Exptl.Dept. Messrs.Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 14th instant, and note your remarks. We have put in hand the units as per suggestion "B" on the drawing sent you, and the first two will be available in a few days. Regarding your second paragraph, we should like to point out that the rubber in the Silentbloc Bearing is in a state of tension, and moreover there are a number of differences between the Silentbloc Bearing and the bonded type of bearing quite apart from the hardness of the rubber, which accounts for the varying flexibility. Below, we give you a copy of the deflection tests carried out on the bearings which you sent us and our own bearings :- Load (lb). Your mounting.
