CONTROL GEAR. X8240
We send herewith drawing No. Lec. 1946., shewing the modifications to the throttle control to make opening due to accelerator pedal more gradual. You will notice this has been accomplished by toggling one of the driving levers on the steering box side of the engine. We have at the same time improved the control gear on the carburetter side by relieving the governor of the duty of driving the shaft that passes through the engine, that is to say, the floating lever has been transferred to the throttle spindle itself. The throttle spindle is now definitely located endways by collars so that the butterfly valve is always centralised. This latter piece is provided with slotted holes so that it can be pinched up in the correct position in the throttle bore.
