October,1935. Messrs. Park Ward & Co., 473, High Road, Willesden, London, N.W.10. Dear Sirs, Phantom III. Our Experimental Dept. wish to test some front wings on a chassis on the bumping rig. It is our idea to have steel wings and running boards on one side and aluminium wings and running boards on the other. There will be a spare wheel carrier on each side. Would you kindly arrange to go ahead with the production of these wings, running boards and wheel wells. An official order for the same will be sent to you by our Order Office. In connection with the running boards, it will not be necessary for you to provide the stainless steel channels and rubber strips, but we would like you to supply the necessary dead eyes and set-screws for fixing same to the chassis. These parts will be required in about ten days' time. Yours faithfully, For and on behalf of ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
