(Handwritten) File (Handwritten) Allison engine (Handwritten in red) 1120 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/ML.20.I.4I. M.A.P. I saw Westbrook on Saturday, at the He again raised the question of the Allison engine. He impressed upon me that he did not want you to be bothered about it, but it was worrying him. I said that if it was anything that you could do to help to win the war, you would not mind being bothered by it. Westbrook's point is that he has little confidence in the people who are going to undertake the repairs of the Allison engine. He feels that, in view of the engine's back-ground, there are likely to be quite a number of troubles in service. He would be very relieved if we would be prepared to do two or three engines a week and let the remainder be done by somebody else. The object of doing these few engines would be to have a picture of how these units were actually behaving in service. Westbrook would then have the benefit of our opinion if any epidemic broke out, and would also have a check-up on the other people who were handling the job. I told him that I would discuss the matter with you again. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
