TO EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} from R. {Sir Henry Royce} Copy to CO. " HORE " HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " BA " EX [Stamped: RECEIVED] X4288 O 4 R8/G14/6/21. X4288 RE ACCUMULATORS FOR BOTH CHASSIS. K664 X4283 [Handwritten: from Feb 1921] I think it is quite clear that we can only consider the Exide and the C.A.V.-Willard battery for our installations in future. We have had many troubles with the Exide batteries, but most of these have probably now been cured. My advice therefore is we finish with batteries for the time being, and instal on our experimental cars, specimens of these two makes until one shews itself superior to the other. In the meantime it would be advisable for us to buy only sufficient batteries to fill the orders received, because it is most likely that these, with other things, will fall in price, and it would be fatal to fill ourselves up with this or any other article. , either of doubtful quality or at a wrong price.
