IMPROVEMENTS TO PRESENT PHANTOM.
----------------------------

At a Conference this morning of Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, and BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} to discuss the improvements which are available it was decided that the improvements tabulated in the attached memo ought to be incorporated in F.2 series if we are to maintain a sufficient rate of progress in order to ensure the supremacy of the chassis in the future.

We feel that it is of the utmost importance that all modifications outlined in the attached memo should be included in F.2 series, some of them in our opinion could profitably have been brought in half way through E.2 series, but to delay them further than F.2 will certainly endanger our supremacy.

If Sales are not in agreement with this programme we think it is most desirable that we should have a Conference immediately of Sales and Works to arrive at a settlement, as material for F.2 should now be on order, but we are having to hold up material in connection with all the sections outlined. It is therefore of the utmost importance that a definite settlement should be arrived at, otherwise we shall be endangering the continuity of output.

We feel that by a determined effort it should be possible to make an outstanding difference in the chassis which will compensate us for the work involved.
