BJ. BY4/G.7.11.27. MODIFICATIONS TO PHANTOM WHICH SHOULD BE INCORPORATED IN F.2 SERIES. --------------------------------- 1. PARALLEL AXLE CONTROL. ----------------------- a/- This was standardised 22.7.27. It had done 100 hours on the bumper. b/- The control in question has done 12,000 miles on one car, in addition other cars are running with the attachment in question fitted. c/- This can be brought in at F.2 series. 2. REAR SPARE WHEEL CARRIER. -------------------------- a/- This was standardised 1.6.27. It has been the subject of a lengthy discussion between Works and Sales, and we are still awaiting a decision. b/- It passed the 10,000 miles test in France. c/- On the bumper certain difficulties arose, and improvements to cover these have been incorporated. These improvements have passed the bumper test, but not the 10,000 miles test. d/- Can be brought in at F.2 Series if we get decision at once, otherwise must be put back a series. This decision affects :- (1) Frames - length altered. (2) Luggage Grid. (3) Side spare wheel carrier, the plate and bolt securing wheel. (4) Petrol tank. 3. PRESSED STEEL WINGSTAYS. -------------------------- a/- This was standardised 23.2.27. This again has been delayed due to conflicting requirements. R.{Sir Henry Royce} is anxious to get it, but Sales have not been able to let us go. b/- Yes, passed 10,000 miles test. | ||
