RE CHASSIS No. GRO-46. DAVID BROWN.

We have investigated this complaint and found the clearance to be inadequate between the engine guard and oil pipe.

Immediately the Test Department received the broken pipe they increased the clearance on all cars ready for despatch. Meanwhile the necessary modification was being instructed by BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} and a further 29 cars were then fully modified by the Test Department. All cars after and including the 166th, Chassis in 'F' Series were also modified in the Erecting Bay.

A Depot Sheet No. 558 is now being issued for all cars, as they come into the Depots for any reason, to be modified.

12 Sets of material have already been issued to Lillehall for modifying cars at Coachbuilders.
