Chassis No. -3- Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}2/R.4.9.33. 5. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} looked through Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}'s memo - Evl/JH.1.9.33. but as there did not appear to be any new points in this or any points which were not receiving attention it was not discussed. 6. Bonnet Stops. The question of bonnet stops was raised by PN{Mr Northey} and it was decided to fit Bonnet Stop Buttons to the 15 cars. 7. Wiring. The accessory wiring and wiring generally was mentioned and it was decided that all wiring on the 15 cars would be done at Derby. 8. Recommended Oils. C. raised the question of oils to be recommended in view of the remarks of Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} in Minute No. 21 of Minutes of Conference reference Hyl/R.29.8.33. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} repeated that Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} had asked that as the Vacuum Oil Co. were on the old Bentley list we should recommend it for use on the new Bentley. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said he had been in touch with the Vacuum Oil Co. and also stated that Vacuum Mobiloil D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} had been used on the 10,000 miles test in France. C. said that in view of our arrangement with Prices it would undoubtedly raise more difficulties if we let in another oil. We already have Prices, Wakefield and Shell and our arrangement with Prices carries many advantages from an advertising point of view and also concessions in cost which are well worth retaining. C. said it was purely a commercial problem and if we let in more suppliers and include them on our recommended list there would seem to be no reason why other suppliers should not be similarly dealt with. C. said that he would give the whole question his careful consideration and make a decision in due course. The business regarding Bentley chassis terminated and Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} asked if anyone had any points to raise regarding R.R. chassis generally. | ||
