Expl. Dept. He/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/MJ. July 21st.1931. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Olley Esq., Cadillac Motor Car Co., Detroit, Michigan U.S.A. Dear Oy., How are you getting on with the Bumper Rig? We want to try the Buick torsional crankshaft damper and attached herewith is a note asking you for information thereon. Do you know of any motorcar manufacturers in U.S.A. using masked inlet valves. If not, do you know of anyone who can give us any information as to their deficiencies?. Can you tell me if General Motors consider that they get any advantages from balance weights other than improving the bearing life. If they do claim any advantages what are they?. We believe that some of the advantages of balance weights are lost when an eight or four weight scheme is fitted instead of the perfect twelve weight scheme, but should like to have other people's views. We are very pleased with salt-cooled valves generally, Yours sincerely, | ||
