RR 228 (150 BKS.) (DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 461-8-12-24) MP 306975 ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. (2) To Order No. WD{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}16 (contd) Customer's No. assembled without any adjustments made and tested on the bench. H.T. Sparking on 5.5 m/m gaps in air was found to be very good, the magnetos firing the gaps regularly at 45 rpm fully advanced and 120 rpm fully retarded after an hour's run at high speed. (our specification calls for 170 rpm retarded). This performance is considered to be remarkably good and better than several machines of this type which we have tested both Lucas and Watford when in new condition. This performance is impressive in view of the fact that tungsten points are used! Signed H.E.W. This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
