Driver L. Barlow.

Having received no reply to inspection letter, I called on this owner on the 19th. He was out but I was able to see the driver who asked me to make a test of the car with regard to hesitation after deceleration. I first of all thought this to be weak mixture but later proved that this was not the case.

On returning to the garage we changed the plugs for a set which Barlow had by him cleaned. While he was doing this I looked at the distributor points and found that they were not aligned correctly. I removed and cleaned these and while endeavouring to restore a/ignment I broke the bakelite insulating piece between the distributor body and the fixed point, I therefore had no alt/rnative but to replace this by the part from GEH-14 which I was using, and run on magneto. After reassembling I took the car on the road and the hesitation was almost, but not entirely, cured.

I understand Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} who is Mr. Thompson's son-in-law, will be sending a set of plugs of the new type for fitting in this car in the near future.

Mr. Thompson was interested in GEH-14, which is a close coupled saloon by Hooper, and asked if a similar body with division could be obtained on a P.III. I told him that our standard touring limousine was of such a design and asked if he would like to try one. I feel that Mr. Thompson will ultimately have one of these cars though I think not at present. It may be a good plan if I were to take one up with me the next time I go in that direction.
