The duty is calculated on the weight of the chassis only, plus a fixed sum for body which varies according to type as follows:—
CHASSIS.—Up to 20 cwt. ... £ s. d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 1 14 0 per cwt.
" Over " ... ... ... 2 0 8 "
BODY.—Open cars ... ... ... 8 0 0 per car.
" Closed " ... ... ... 12 16 0 "
To arrive at the weight of the chassis alone, deduct 4 cwt. from the total weight of the vehicle for an open car and 8 cwt. in the case of a closed car.
The Triptyque is available for four months from the date of entry, and for any number of journeys during that period.
It is advisable to carry a declaration from the manufacturers, preferably in Spanish or French, stating the weight in kilograms of the chassis and the body separately.
