TRIPTYQUES FOR FOREIGN CUSTOMS.

By arrangement with the various National Touring Clubs, A.A. and M.U. Members can deposit the Customs duties for the Countries mentioned below with the Association, and obtain entry permits called “Triptyques,” whereby they will avoid the intricate Customs formalities at the frontiers, which have to be complied with by motorists travelling without Triptyques.

The amount of the duty deposited is reimbursed upon the receipt at the Head Office of the Counterfoil of the Triptyque duly discharged by the Customs Authorities at the place of departure from the country to which the Triptyque applies.

Arrangements can also be made for the shipment of Members’ cars to any part of the Continent, all charges through to destination being paid to the Association before departure. The A.A. and M.U. is in a position to issue an International Pass, which obviates the necessity of taking out foreign licences in each country visited. Special application forms for these facilities can be obtained from the Touring Department. Members should indicate the route by which they propose sending their cars when applying for these forms.

It should be noted that the Triptyque fee (the amount of which is £1 1s. 0d. for the first country to be visited and 5s. for each further country) includes in most cases the services of the Association's representative at the port of arrival, and also membership of the Touring Club de France. The fee is reduced by 5s. if the applicant is already a member of the T.C.F., and has paid the current year's subscription to that body, or if he is not visiting France. The Triptyque fees are halved in the case of Motor Cycles.

Full Instructions are attached to each Triptyque.
