20 HP. CHASSIS. LOW SPEED WOBBLES.

Referring to WJ18/E.2.12.26. I will make out a card as you suggest. My object, however, in writing you and giving you the particulars was - I thought it would save time if you could take up the matter on this basis with R.{Sir Henry Royce} as all the cars affected are enumerated, and the maximum and minimum costs for carrying out the change indicated.

With reference to your paragraph asking whether we had given full consideration to the fact that we had or had not received a large number of complaints about low speed wobbles, this aspect of the case was the basis for our conference at the Works, and it was definitely stated by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that as soon as the pivots freed themselves in running, wobbles were certain to develop, it might be six months or a year, but sooner or later the freedom of steering connections and pivots, obtained by driving on the road, would result in the wobble setting up.

The Repair Dept. have received a number of complaints already, which have been dealt with in precisely the same manner we now suggest to deal with cars on the road.

The cost of the job was fully appreciated, but it was felt it was of the utmost importance to settle this particular fault, even at the expense entailed.
