E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}7/LG11.5.22. ENGINE FIXING. Y4220 X3535 On the car which has completed 10,000 miles in France we noticed that there are signs of the Crankcase having figeted about on the tubular fixing. The drawings allow for this tube to slide into the bearer arms on the crankcase. We should like to know whether this is what you intended. We think it would be better if the tube was gripped by the engine support arms and any sliding to take place on the oilless bearing. We should like to have your views on this.
