C O P Y. To BY.from Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} C. to Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} C. to D/BP. Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/WW2o/W25.8.25. Re Chassis No.49-LC. - C.J. Conway. We give below extract of Sales memo Hr12/PD 23.8.25 :- "Another point of complaint was that the distributor cover cracked. I am returning this cracked distributor cover to you by post to-day for your examination. This was replaced by new one in Paris, for which Paris wished to charge him. The owner refused to pay. After your examination please make your recommendations to us as to who should pay. I take it that there will be no doubt about it that R.R. will pay, as both owner and the chauffeur whom I interviewed, said that they were simply taking it off in quite a normal manner and the thing cracked as it was pulled off. The chauffeur is a good man and attended our school in Derby. There was another point which this owner brought up that he had been put to an expense of 15/- in getting the cracked distributor mended so that he could carry on enough to get to Paris. I told him if he would write to us and give us the facts of the case, we would take this matter up with the Administration with a view to his being credited with this amount. This will depend on your report on the cracked distributor case." We also send you herewith the cracked Distributor Cover, and should be glad if you would examine same, and let us have your report for submission to the Administration. [Signature] Hm.{Capt. W.
