Bentley Chassis & Coachwork. Referring to EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}8/IH.23.7.34. We understand that you have confirmed that the flexible type of Bentley body shall not be fitted to an experimental chassis but to some other of the Company's cars. Also that the new body required for the chassis with the dashboard moved forward 3" shall be of the standard coachbuilt saloon type. With regard to the complete Park Ward body which is at present waiting for 5-B-IV chassis. The chassis as originally specified is partially built, and the new engine unit is about ready for a 10,000 miles test. The proposal therefore is that we finish this chassis and fit to it this Park Ward body. We shall then have an up-to-date car with up-to-date coachwork, which could replace Bentley I now obsolete. The chassis with the dashboard moved 3" forward will follow on and be referred to as Bentley 6. As no designs have yet been completed for this alteration it will be some little time before B.6 can be started. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} | ||
