To Sft.{Mr Swift} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}8/KT.13.12.33. BENTLEY BRAKE DRUMS. We found on B.23.AE, the streamlined Bentley car that a number of studs holding the brake drum to the flange were very loose, in fact some of them were nearly out. These studs should be locked by opening out the saw cut in the end of them, it is evident that on this car this had not been done. If one of these brake drums came adrift it might mean a serious accident. Therefore we recommend that a special examination is made to see that these studs are locked properly.
