HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} E/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/MN.24.12.36. LES Re Wraith II Wheel Movements - Phantom.III. We send herewith N.Sch.4986 showing a modified scheme for the lubrication of the yoke piece of the Wraith II type movement levers of Phantom III. This scheme has been done to overcome a foul between the coil pipe and the brake adjuster on the original scheme. The design consists of two sets of coils in a single pipe and it is intended that for the first car, 35-Ex, the parts be made up without details. We are sending to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} herewith a preliminary detail of the 'U' shaped bracket which is clamped to the yoke piece. This may be made as an aluminium-bronze casting for 35-Ex. The scheme shows sufficient information concerning the other details for them to be made directly from it. We show two views for the fitting of the upper coil to the top triangle lever. In the main scheme we show the lever as drawn on our original scheme N.Sch.4758, and in the separate view the lever as it has been detailed and as it is on the car. It will be to this latter view that it will be necessary to work for the parts of 35-Ex. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Att:N.Sch.4986. | ||
