To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EFC. c. to By/Mr. Brock. X.3014b EFC1/T4.11.20. X.3014b - LUCAS E.575 DYNAMO. With reference to our EFC5/T20.10.20, we are awaiting from Mr. Brock a dynamo which is particularly low in out-put. We then wish to run this dynamo for four hours so as to bring it into a hot condition, set the control brush so that the peak out-put is 9 amperes, after which we shall find the peak out-put of this dynamo nearly cold, i.e. after the 20 minutes running specified in our specification of test, our object being to fix upon the corresponding peak out-put figure in par.(3) of the specification of test to which we work, i.e. a figure to replace the 11.5 amperes. The machines we have at our disposal in the Experimental Shop will not go as low as 9 amperes hot with the control brush fully retarded. EFC. | ||
