re Modification to P.100 Headlamps.

With reference to your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst4/MA.24.6.35, we note that apart from the modification to the reflector you have pressed for extra clearance between the dipping portion of the reflector and the fixed portion mounted inside the front glass of P.100 headlamps.

We have carefully looked into this and find it is quite a simple matter for us to fit the new fixed portion to an existing lamp as well as the modified reflector, thereby obtaining the extra desired clearance.

We think by this that the whole of your objections are now overcome, and it will, therefore, be possible for us to deal with the modification on the lines suggested in our previous memo so long as Lucas can supply:-

1 modified reflector (no bulb required.)
1 fixed portion for mounting inside the front glass
6 Rim springs for same.
1 cork washer.

This appears to be the total amount of material required for each lamp, therefore, if we could have four sets supplied we should then be able to carry on with the modification as the cars come to hand.

We are sorry to be so persistent in this matter, but we think it is the only way to deal with the job as there will be so many cars that we cannot get a second time for changing back to original lamps. Incidentally, there would be no need for us to take the matter up with owners.

I shall be glad if the matter can now be settled so that we can carry on with the job.
